Baseball School Segment
Players will be grouped by age, ability, and prior experience. During the skill instruction segment, participants will be coached in several baseball skills, fundamentals, and team concepts. Members of the camp will receive instruction in a variety of areas including hitting, infield play, outfield play, pitching, double plays, sliding, position priorities, and base running. The stations are designed to reinforce fundamentals and technique through repetition and exposure to drills. All batting instruction and batting drills take place in Stanford’s million-dollar baseball cage facility. The astro-turfed cages are covered so campers are out of the direct sun light. Participants will hit every day in the cage area.

Baseball Games Segment
In the games segment of the camp, players are grouped by age and ability and teams are formed. Teams play against one another in a coach pitched game where the goal is to see that ball “put into play”. This keeps the game action fast and the pace moving quickly. This fun environment provides opportunities to improve at game speed. Many of the baseball skills learned in the baseball school segment will be put into game situations. Teams will be rotated on a daily basis and coaches will allow campers to team with a maximum number of friends as well. Our goal is that each camper will play from 12-15 games each week. Coach Esquer believes that in this low pressure environment kids can develop their skills and love for the game. Games will be played on Sunken Diamond, or the adjoining astro-turf and grass fields.

Check-In
Camp begins at 9am and ends at 4pm each day of camp. Campers will be required to check-in daily at the main entrance to Stanford Baseball’s Sunken Diamond. Check-in will be open starting at 8:30am every day of camp.

Extended Care
We understand that campers may not be able to be picked up at 4pm each day following camp. Extended Care will be open from 4pm-6pm each day of camp and the cost is $20 per day. As camp gets closer you will receive instructions on how to schedule and pay for extended care in advance. You can also arrange and pay for extended care during check-in each day of camp.

Equipment
Each camper must bring his/her own baseball equipment. Players should bring a glove, bat, shoes, hat, helmet, and wear suitable baseball attire (either baseball pants or sweats/long pants). There will be a limited supply of bats and helmets that can be provided upon request. Stanford Baseball camps request each camper place their name and phone number on all equipment and items; including shoes, hats, and clothing.

Medical Staff/Insurance
There will be a certified athletic trainer at Sunken Diamond at all times to attend to care for minor injuries and illness. If a camper gets sick or injured while at camp, they will assess the situation and make the decision of what needs to be done. Parents or guardians will be contacted immediately if there is a serious injury or if a camper needs to leave camp early for a medical reason. Please make a notation on the medical portion of your registration if there is any medical condition we should be aware of in advance of the camper’s attendance at camp. Our athletic trainer will be available for questions on the first day of each camp and throughout the week.

Insurance information provided on the Medical Waiver Form MUST be accurate. All campers must have their own medical insurance.

Camp Medical Wavier Form
Each camper must have a completed and signed Medical Wavier Form in order to attend camp. If you register for camp online, the Medical Wavier Form can be completed online as well. If you are mailing in a registration form, you will receive a printable version of the Medical Wavier Form when you receive your registration confirmation email.

Parking Information
On the first day of camp, you can pick up a special parking pass (to be placed on your dashboard) that will allow you to park in the C sticker parking lot outside of Sunken Diamond from 8:30am-9am and again from 3:30pm-4:30pm each day of camp. Each parking pass is good for that entire week of camp.

Lunch
Lunch is not included in the purchase of Stanford Baseball camp. If you would like to purchase lunch at camp, this can be done the week leading up to camp or at check-in the day of camp. As camp gets closer, you will receive an email with specific instructions on how to arrange for and pay lunch in advance.

Snack Shack
Each day of camp there will be a snack shack open where campers can purchase a variety of snacks and drinks throughout the day. A “bank” can be set-up for so that campers do not have to worry about having cash with them. This can be done the week leading up to camp or at check-in each day of camp. As camp gets closer, you will receive an email with specific instructions on how to arrange for and pay a “bank” in advance. Please Note: If a camper has a balance due at the end of camp on the last, it is the campers’ responsibility to go to the snack shack and cash out before leaving camp.

Refund and Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend camp, a refund can be provided less a $75 cancellation fee when a request is submitted up to 14 days prior to the first day of camp. If you cancel your registration within 13 days of the start of camp, we will give you a camp credit. This camp credit is valid for any 2020 or 2021 Stanford Baseball Youth Summer Camp. All cancellation requests need to be submitted in writing by emailing the Stanford Baseball Office at baseballoffice@stanford.edu. Registration and processing fees from Active (our online registration company) will not be refunded.
